This second floor room features two queen beds, desk, clawfoot tub and walk-in shower.
The Baldwin Suite is a second-floor room in the Sheppard House with décor inspired by the historic time period in which the house was built. It takes up an entire wing of the house and even has its own foyer. The suite is adorned with blush pink and baby blue shades. Two queen beds make up the ample bedroom that includes an antique desk. The expansive bathroom has a great view of Ludlow house and is decorated with charmingly intricate bird tile that is a precise replica of Victorian transferware tile imported from England; a rainforest shower with two shower heads and clawfoot soaking bathtub complete the space.
The Sheppard House, built soon after the property was purchased in 1892, is a grandiose, two-story brick residence with eclectic design. Situated on a tranquil street, it’s ideal for a peaceful night’s rest. Signature features include Tudor labels over the windows, a wrap-around porch with intricate design, and a parapeted gable roof with finials crowning each gable peak. The outside is almost as stunning as the inside. The small vestibule holds a Victorian closed string stair, heavily molded wood cornice, paneled doors, and Colonial Revival fireplace mantel. Benjamin J. Sheppard, a tobacco leaf dealer and company owner, was a charter member of Twin City Club and an elder in First Presbyterian Church.
