One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 7 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 7 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.

Each reservation booked directly will have occupancy tax and state and county sales tax added.

There is not a deposit required for single-room bookings. For large room blocks and entire house rentals, a refundable deposit of $500 is necessary to cover potential damages.

No smoking is allowed inside either of our inns. There are designated, outside smoking areas at each property.

Pets are not allowed at our Summit Street Inns Property. We have one pet-friendly room at The Shaffner Inn, if you would like to book Twin City Suites at our sister property.

Check-in time is 4:00 pm.  Check-out time is 11:00 am.

Whenever possible, we make an effort to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs. However, availability depends on occupancy and our housekeeping schedule.

Provided with advance notice, we can typically arrange for luggage drop-off in the event your room is not ready.

While we strive to create a welcoming atmosphere for all, our amenities are intended for the exclusive use of registered guests. This policy ensures fairness and avoids overcrowding, allowing all paying guests to fully enjoy their stay.

Our rooms boast king beds (except one queen) and en-suites with clawfoot tubs, walk-in showers, or both.

At Summit Street Inns, there are private balconies. The Chesterfield Grand Suite and Ludlow Grand Suite both have private balconies and entrances.

Enjoy a complimentary breakfast each morning of your stay.  As a guest of Summit Street Inns, you can choose from a continental breakfast in the Sheppard House or travel just 1 mile to enjoy a full breakfast at Founders Restaurant in The Shaffner Inn; every booking includes two full breakfasts, featuring an entree item, coffee, and juice for each guest.  Each guest also receives a split of wine and chocolate on the first night of their stay.

Please inform us in advance about any extra guests for your breakfast reservation, and we will do our best to accommodate them. However, outside guests are required to cover their own breakfast expenses.

Free, private parking is available behind the inn for all of our guests.

Situated in the heart of downtown, Summit Street Inns is close to a multitude of restaurants and attractions. It is within walking distance to first class restaurants including Mozelle’s Southern Bistro, Bernardin’s, and Fourth Street Filling Station, as well as a great cocktail bar, Joyner’s. The Shaffner Inn is close to a variety of restaurants and attractions, as well, including Old Salem, Di Lisio’s Italian Restaurant, and BYGood Coffee and Camino Bakery: Brookstown.
